MJ Vuinovich offers a strong track record of delivering effective legal solutions for both public and private clients in a wide range of practice areas, including education, administrative and agency issues, tribal representation, contracts, policy and procedures development, and training. MJ is excited to now focus her practice on debtor/creditor rights, and other general civil and transactional matters. She is driven to deliver high-quality results through integrity, collaboration, and management of changing dynamics. In addition, MJ is proficient in Spanish.
Prior to joining Flagstaff Law Group, MJ was the Associate General Counsel for Northern Arizona University. She has also served as a civil attorney with the Coconino County Attorney’s Office, and was an Associate Attorney with Baldwin, Crocker and Rudd, P.C., where her practice focused on federal Indian law and tribal representation.
MJ is a proud alumna of the University of Arizona Rogers College of Law and the University of Montana. She also holds a M.A. from the University of Queensland, Australia, where she was a Rotary World Peace Fellow. In addition, MJ participated in the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar program in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Education & Public Entities
MJ has over three years’ experience as the Associate General Counsel for Northern Arizona University. During that time, MJ collaborated on a wide variety of issues affecting the University, including student affairs (disciplinary hearings), student privacy (FERPA), Title IX, employment and human resources matters, HIPAA, COVID-19, contracts, intergovernmental agreements, agency inquiries, immigration, public records, regulatory compliance, policy and best practice development, and trainings. While with the Coconino County Attorney’s Office, MJ also worked on issues related to K-12 matters.
